Let me introduce myself. Hi! I am a Travel & Tourism Specialist and before I studied or choosed this career I thought that it wasn’t neccesary to hire a travel agent or a travel advisor, because you know we are in 2021; Internet do everything that we need. But is that really true? No, is not and I’ll share with you why…
Let’s first start for the basics. What is the Travel Industry? … This includes services that are directly related to the travel itself, such as transportation, but also includes services related to catering for travellers’ needs and wants after they have arrived at their destination. What do you mean by travel industry?
DEFINITION: Companies that provide various types of travel services, including travel agencies, tour operators, cruise lines, and Internet vacation reservations and services.
What or Who is a Travel Agent? Travel agents offer advice on destinations, plan trip itineraries, and make travel arrangements for clients. Travel agents sell transportation, lodging, and admission to entertainment activities to individuals and groups planning trips. What a travel agent do? Planning and selling travel services. Cooperating with clients to determine their needs and advising them appropriate destination, modes of transportations, travel dates, costs and accommodations.
What makes a great travel agent? Without a doubt, the thing that sets great travel agents apart from other agents (and from online booking sites) is their ability to take care of their clients. … They develop lasting relationships with clients, rather than treating them as another commission check.
Is booking through a travel agent cheaper?
Booking with travel agents is often cheaper than booking online as they have access to awesome money-saving deals. Privy to secret airline prices, travel agents book scores of air tickets each day and will be able to easily tell you if the flight price you found online is a reasonable one. Who pays for a travel agent? The cost of using a travel agent is generally marginal, and oftentimes they won’t charge you at all. Much of their money comes from the hotels and wholesalers they do business with. Before you consult an agent, be sure you first inquire about fees. If you won’t miss the amount, go ahead and proceed.
Basically, the job of a travel agent is to help their clients to save money, be in the busget and help the client to have an amazing experience.
