Places To Add To Your Fall Travel List In NC

Hello everyone, who’s excited for the fall colors in NC? For all those wondering, fall colors in the mountains of North Carolina is incredibly beautiful and breathtaking , you should definitely go and visit the Blue Ridge Mountains and visit my favorite spot, Linn Cove Viaduct where I personally think has the best view in the mountains, where the colors are starting to look brighter, with the orange, yellow and red fooliage from the trees.

I’m someone who loves fall and the cozyness that comes with it, like the leafs falling from the tress, the hot drinks, like pumpkin spice drinks, etc… That’s why in this post I’m going to share with you some of my favorite spots and places you should visit this Fall of 2023 in North Carolina.

Favorite Places To See The Change Of Colors This Fall

  • Blue Ridge Mountains– The Blue Ridge Mountains are a physiographic province of the larger Appalachian Highlands range. The mountain range is located in the Eastern United States, and extends 550 miles southwest from southern Pennsylvania through Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Why visit the Blue Ridge Mountains in fall? Starting in late September and continuing until early November, the trees in the Blue Ridge Mountains begin to turn to burnt orange, deep crimson red, and golden yellow. These storybook landscapes make fall time in the High Country a favorite for many visitors and locals alike.

I personally love making stops while going to the top of the mountain in the Blue Ridge to appreciate the beautiful colors and take pictures to remember of how beautiful it is.

  • Chimney Rock- Chimney Rock is a village in Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 113 at the 2010 census. The village takes its name from a large granite outcropping located on a summit above the village itself in Chimney Rock State Park.

Why visit Chimey Rock in fall? Chimney Rock, the 535-million-year-old monolith for which the Park is named, is considered one of the most iconic sites in North Carolina. From its top, you’ll soak in the 75-mile panoramic views of Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. So you’ll have a panoramic view to appreciate the colors in fall.

I like visiting the Chimney Rock State Park but I love visiting the small town and stop by the local businesses, restaurants and coffee shop. It’s definitely a must in your bucket list of NC.

  • La Strada At Lake Lure- In 1974 La Strada opened the first of several locations in Charlotte. Starting as a small family business specializing in NY-style brick oven pizza and traditional Italian cuisine, word quickly spread about the great food and La Strada became a Charlotte favorite. After over 30 years of serving great food in Charlotte, La Strada and the original family members have come to Lake Lure with their family recipes offering one of the most varied and unique menus in the area. There’s something special for everyone – including baked and sautéed pasta, NY-style and Sicilian pizza, Baby back ribs, Fresh seafood, Chicken, Burgers, Salads and Steak. The menu also includes a children’s section.  Be sure to sample some of the delicious appetizers and signature desserts. Wine, Beer and mixed beverages are available from our Full-Service Bar.  La Strada is a Family Owned and Operated business that has been proudly serving North Carolina for nearly 50 years!

Me and my family loved their food. Everything was so good specially the pizza. We decided to eat outside and it was the best decision because it has a beautiful view to relax and enjoy of the beautiful Lake Lure.
